Small plots of old vines with different altitudes, orientations and soil structure that are born at the foot of the Sierra de Toloño. The orography contributes to the creation of a unique microclimate in which the Atlantic and Mediterranean influences are combined. The vineyards are mainly Tempranillo with Graciano, Garnacha, white varieties and other unknown varieties. The expression of each plot remains intact until the end of the aging process. The complete blend defines the authenticity and viticultural essence of Leza. Expressiveness and elegance.

The Sierra de Toloño is witness to the landscape that has been forged under its influence. Small plots of centenary vineyards with a diversity of varieties and biotypes and multiple degrees of sun exposure and orientations that favor a gradual ripening of the grapes. Its mountainous orography acts as a natural barrier to protect the Leza winegrowing area from adverse weather conditions. Loamy loam soils with a high limestone content. Auirri 2022 is a wine from the municipality of Leza in the heart of Rioja Alavesa. The assembly of several plots that are worked individually with the purpose of transmitting the best of each vineyard and environment.

The Aiurri 2022 grapes were harvested by hand after an initial selection of clusters in the vineyard. Later, in the winery, a double selection was made: of clusters and berries. Gravity winemaking allows maximum respect for the raw material and vinification by parcels enables us to provide the wine with the particular characteristics of each site. We work with spontaneous fermentations and gentle extractions with very controlled temperatures. Aiurri 2022 has spent sixteen months aging in French oak barrels of different sizes. After the blending of plots, it was aged in concrete tanks for four months. For greater protection, the wine contains sulfites. Finally, it was clarified with vegetable proteins and bottled in the spring of 2024.
